Syndication is a new (old) standard for distributing information on the Internet. The process allows publishing a content of a website by presenting its headlines on a different one.

RSS is a short of "RDF Site Summary", for "Resource Description Framework", but "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication" are also used expressions.

The file source of a RSS feed is a XML format standard used by more and more websites to present their content. It allows content producers to define each article with a title, a description, an extract or whole article content, presented in different RSS versions(0.9 1.0 2.0) or Atom format. A RSS feed is simply a text file containing brief description of content saved in XML format.

Small icon often of orange or blue color and mentioning XML, RSS or Atom that appear on websites to signify that a RSS feed is available. Behind that button is the link location of the URL to add to the RSS reader or aggregator.

For syndication to be in action implies two websites. The first one who wishes to be syndicated will create a RSS feed and the second one who wishes to syndicate the first will create a specific page able to publish that content. That page capable of reading XML code and presenting titles and extract of content from many websites is a RSS reader. Also, a reader that can aggregates mixed feeds from different sources to create a new feed can be referred to as an aggregator.

The reader can appear as a website presenting headlines from different sources on the web structured in a personalized way. With  i.meta  RSS  you have one page with the Latest headlines from all your feeds and with  i Read ::  you have the page with all the headlines.
